Coastal Loving

We are home. And I still haven’t done any washing. Sometimes having far too many clothes is a good thing!

We had a fabulous time away catching up with family and friends, and we attended a beautiful wedding. Harvey looked adorable, I’ll be sure to share his wedding attire soon.

First here are some shots from the harbour in my home town. Such a beautiful spot. My home growing up had an amazing view of this harbour and I never thought anything of it seeing it everyday, now I adore it.

This kid is growing at lightening speed.. I swear he was immobile not all that long ago and now he is so fast and pulls up to stand on everything. Baby goal (the playpen) has been installed at home and so far he is happy to hang in there. I have been rotating toys so he doesn’t get bored, but mostly he just wants to stand up holding on the the bars and dance.

Tonight Hairspray (the musical) came on just before he went to bed, and he immediately started bopping and clapping his hands to the music. So adorable.

Harvey is wearing:

Bonds Hoodie  – $19.95

Beau Hudson Oh Deer Bandini – $14.50

Striped Hat was made by Harvey’s aunty – she is a clever lady!

Target Baby Jeans – $10 on sale from last season

Dunlop Baby Volleys from BigW – $15

’til next time.

To Geema’s House

We are currently away visiting family & Harvs just had his first full day away from his mumma while I went to a hens. I can assure you I missed him more than he missed me. He spent the day with his Geema (my mum), aunty, uncle and many cousins. I have no doubts he was spoiled.

The wedding is this weekend and I have an outfit picked (he is just going to the ceremony, we will be enjoying the reception while he is tucked in bed under the supervision of an aunty) I can’t wait (for both Harvey’s outfit and a few baby free champers)

Here is our little spunk wearing a few recent purchases.

Bonds Stretchies Print Legging – $13.95

Baby Gap knot hat

Beau Hudson “oh deer” Bandini $14.50
I can’t tell you how much I love Beau Hudson. These Bandini’s are making me a happy lady lately and I can’t wait to put in my next order. The quality is outstanding!

Dunlop My First Volleys – $15 at Big W

Bonds Boy

We are already Bonds fans from way back (by way back I mean 8 months ago) but the 40% off sale sold me on a few items last week.

First here is Harvey in the outfit he wore on his first full day of being home

Holy moly that squishy little newborn kills me. I purchased that little onesie and hat just after our wedding almost 5 years ago.. I got it in both blue and pink but gave the pink one away- intuition perhaps?

Harvey wore this stripey number below all summer long. Cute, affordable and light for hot summer days.

This squishy face is making many appearances now. He thinks he is hilarious.

You can buy this little chesty suit now on sale here for $10 – not too shabby! Bonds ships for free too- bonus!

Here are my latest purchases. The 40% off just finished but I find bonds do lots of great sales, and even at full price they are still affordable.

Stretchies Leggings – $13.95
I have a geometric obsession at the moment so if something has triangles on it I’ll pretty much but it. These are comfy and light for Harvs so it’s a double win.

Newborn knit jacket – $26.95
Winter is coming.. And I can’t wait. I think I’ll grab this in a couple more colours. I also can’t wait for Game of Thrones to come back.

Baby Hoodie – $19.95
This will look super cute with just about anything. And it has a built in hat- and we know how I feel about hats!

Our Purebaby at the Park

I am a bit of a fan of Purebaby. Their baby clothes are always fashionable, subtle (no giant CUTE or GOING CAMPING words written all over them) and wear and wash well. I generally wait for a sale to buy because they often have them and I am a lover of bargains.

I don’t remember how much I paid for this outfit.. but it was half price around Christmas, and Harvey has been getting lots of wear out of it with these warm days stretching on. It’s a cream onesie with a collar and a pair of overalls, the collared onesie also looks great with pants/shorts (especially with suspenders)

Is there anything cuter than a little boy in overalls? Since Harvey was a couple months old I have been going most days for a walk (I like to say run, but it’s really a walk with the occasional jog when I muster up some energy 😉 ) Now he has gotten bigger we have started stopping along the way for a play, mostly we stop at the park (we pass two on our usual walk) but yesterday we took a detour and went to this open field. Harvey crawled around, played with (tried to eat) the grass, and burnt off some enegry. I took pictures.

Where does time go? I am sure I just had a baby the other day. Days fly by, I feel like life pre Harvey went so slow (hyperemisis & not working during my pregnancy certainly didn’t help) then the last 8 months has gone with the blink of an eye.

Now I have this bright bubbly tot, who is so much fun. Every age since I had a snugly little newborn I have said “this is my favourite age” but I think this age really is my favourite. He is interactive and playful, he is on the move but not into too much mischief. He is doing so well at self settling and sleeping and he is learning new words and starting to understand what they mean (no mum yet though!) Life with an 8 month old is pretty grand.

Kmart $6 Jeggings

As of last week Harvey owns these jeggings in every size they come in.

I purchased the first pair when I was pregnant. They are in the girls section but there is certainly nothing girly about them. We didn’t know Harvey was a he so my shopping was limited (don’t worry, I made up for it) and I figured they were a perfect neutral item to go with everything, and at $6 a steal! So I grabbed the newborn size. Then when he was born they were so easy, stretchy and comfy and looked cute to boot.. so I went and picked up the 000 and 00 for him to grow into. I certainly got my moneys worth with those too, so last week when I noticed the 00 were too short I skipped off to Kmart and picked up the 0 and 1 – rounding out our collection. We also own 2 red pairs we got for $3 each on sale – their dollar for wear number would be cents, I am planning a post on the outfits they made soon.

I will always recommend those having babies to go crazy on tights and jeggings for under 6 month sizes – proper pants and jeans are just too difficult and don’t look as comfy. Because they are stretchy they also fit well for longer.

Harvey is wearing:

Kmart Baby Jeggings – $6
I swear these were on the website last week but now are missing. Anyway if you can’t tell from this post I love these.

Seed Heritage Geometric Print Tee –
Harvey recently wore this on the blog here.. it’s such a cute top. It’s from last season so no longer available

Seed Heritage Baby Shoes – $39.95
I loved these so much I drove over an hour each way to buy them because my Seed had sold out. He has only just started to fit them now months later so I have been busting them out lately. It’s from last season so no longer available

Baby Gap Hat – $4.95 minus another 25%
I know the price because I went and grabbed two more of these on the weekend. This hat goes with everything and is the right fit and thickness that means Harvey doesn’t get too warm

Here are some Iphone shots from the past showing Harvey in his Kmart Jeggings as a teeny bubba (they grow too fast!)

Kmart Jeggings, Cotton On onesie, Purebaby Cardi

Kmart Jeggings, Target onesie, Kmart flannelette shirt

Kmart Jeggings, Best and Less Shirt and Vest

Kmart Jeggings, Baby Gap Shirt and Jumper, Zara shoes

Kmart Jeggings, Seed Heritage tee

Cool Change

These days are getting cooler. It seems we are getting cool mornings and hot afternoons, which means an outfit change for all of us each day. I will never get used to Melbourne weather, lucky all it’s pros make up for that con.

But on the plus side, it is my humble opinion that when it comes to baby boy fashion Autumn/Winter is far more fun. Although I am yet to find vest that sets my heart racing – any suggestions where I could look?

Cooler days mean the jeans are coming out in full force. You saw Harvs yellow jeans a few days ago, and here are his red ones. Coloured jeans are a winner in my eyes!

Harvey is wearing:
Ebay Tee –
This came with overalls but it’s cute on it’s own too. I have been searching for a black and white stripe tee and this is the only one I have come across. Something so simple you would think!

Target Baby red jeans
I actually can’t remember how much these were, but they were from summer and no longer in stock. While they are cute they are a little stiff. I have only washed them once (Harvey just outgrew 00 jeans now at 8 months) so hopefully they will soften with a few more washes.

I will say I preferred Harvey’s red jeggings from Kmart – he had them in 0000, 000 and 00 so has worn them since birth, but he finally outgrew the 00 last month and I can’t get them any more, although they still stock the denim colour so I will blog about them soon – $6 and I got one pair on sale for $3!! Jeggings are perfect for babies.. comfort wins.

Lima Bean Bandana bib – $13.95
This would have to be Harvey’s most often worn item. I am even sick of seeing it myself! But fear not.. I have a couple of new Bandana Bibs on their way from Beau Hudson, and they are adorable.

Puppy Love

Harvey is the proud owner of 2 Alaskan Malamutes. He could not love them any more, just the sight of them get his legs kicking and his hands opening and close grabbing all while squealing with delight.

We were very slow in our introduction of puppies to Harvey, they are such big dogs and while they are gentle giants we just wanted to be super careful. Each day we would take Harvey out – at first wrapped in a blanket then as he got bigger (and the weather warmed up) we started taking him out unwrapped. The first few weeks the would just sniff at the little bundle and look at him curiously (tilted heads and all) but over time they started to nudge him a little and have a good look. As Harvey started to wriggle more they realised he was actually a person and not a little bundle. Then once Harvey was more aware of surroundings we would hold him down to let him pat them and they would give him a little sniff (and a lick if they got the chance)

Once Harvey was sitting up we let them slowly be closer to him. By now they had learnt they needed to be gentle with the baby. If they ever got too excited or nudged a little too hard we said a firm no and took baby straight back inside. It wasn’t until now (at 8 months) that we have had the chance to get photos of them all together (our fur kids and our human kid) They aren’t perfect shots.. but getting them to focus on me when they are way too excited to be playing with each other is impossible!
We were pretty reserved in letting our baby be around our dogs, I had visions before I was pregnant of puppies, newborn and I all snuggling together and it just didn’t turn out that way – but it’s worked well for us. Puppies love baby, Harvey loves puppies, and they all know to be gentle together. We would never leave any child unattended with our dogs – and that is as much for our puppies safety as the little ones. Our dogs have never hurt, or bitten anyone ever, but dogs just don’t know their strengths sometimes, and it’s not a risk we are willing to take.

Enough of that serious stuff! Now to What Harvey Wore:

Seed Heritage Baby Top – Not sure on the price as it was a gift but most of their tops are around $24.95 and wash and wear so well.
This was from Harvey’s aunties for Christmas, so is no longer in stock. But I adore it! Give me anything Geometric and I will love it, and this has arrows on the back so it gets two ticks. He also has the matching bib.

I absolutely love the Seed Baby brand – but I have to be honest and say I am so not loving the current stock. Just not into Dinosaurs, it’s foxes or nothing in this house. I’m kidding.. we do like wolf shirts too haha! Honestly though I am just finding the current range (with the dinosaurs) a bit more ‘play clothes’ looking, and if I am going to buy H play clothes, they won’t be from Seed. I am eyeing off the moccasins though – just deciding on size because I want them for when he starts to walk.

Target Baby Jeans
Also no longer in stock.I paid like $5 for these last year on sale, I don’t think Harvey was even born yet.. but boy or girl I love yellow and knew they would be a hit. Coloured jeans are big in this house, in his current size he has red, yellow & green as well as the usual dark/light denim and black jeans.

Hat is from BabyGap & Socks are Bonds
